Our Story
At Built Strong, our goal is to develop our member’s inner physical and mental strength. We believe that all fitness goals begin by developing both kinds of strength. Our strength is magnified through our community bonds, and at Built Strong we seek to develop a community of like-minded individuals who all value fitness and the freedom that it provides. We do this by taking a comprehensive approach in the services that we offer. In addition to receiving world-class fitness instruction whether it be in personal training or in one of our group fitness classes, our members will also receive nutritional coaching, performance tracking, community support, and current wellness education.
Built Strong was born out of Coach Rob Johnson’s love for helping others. He has a passion for fitness but an even greater passion for people. He believes fitness is a vehicle that allows him to connect with people. He loves the stories, he loves the struggles, and he loves the transformations (big and small). Rob describes his work like this, “I can’t describe how great it feels ending my work day knowing that I was able to assist and/or support someone along their fitness journey.” Rob is a certified NASM and NCI L1.
The collaboration for Built Strong between Rob and Teresa was born out of their shared philosophy that fitness that fitness is better with a team. They have supported each other in their fitness mindsets, lifestyle, organization, and business. While Rob initially thought of himself as a trainer, in 2014, he envisioned his role as more of a coach, supporting and guiding people along their journey. In 2021, Rob began to envision himself as a fitness educator, and Teresa’s lifelong career as a teacher helped him embrace that role. Now, they see each other as partners in a healthy, balanced lifestyle, and they see Built Strong as a means to coach and educate, and as a way to expand their Fit Family.
The fitness programs at Built Strong reflect this philosophy and are designed to help members achieve their goals, whether they are to lose weight, build muscle, or to prevent disease. We will provide a safe, fun, and motivating environment where our members and clients can grow in becoming the best version of themselves. Built Strong is a community of like-minded individuals who all value fitness and the freedom that it provides. Whether your goal is making a huge physical transformation, getting off medication, improving your quality of life, preparing for your first 5k, or simply keeping up with your grandkids, Built Strong is the place for you.

Hi there I’m Nikki!!
I started my own personal weight loss journey back in 2014 at a weight of 320 pounds and have lost 140 pounds since then! I have done so many things during my journey in order to stay active land be healthy. I have done HIIT Classes, Kick Boxing, Power Lifting, CrossFit, Conventional Boxing taken Spin Classes and ran a few Half Marathons!!
Throughout the process I gained so much love and insight for it that in 2019 I decided to get certified by the National Association of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer, with a sub-specialty in the Psychology of Weight Loss/Gain and Nutritional Management. All of these really hit home for me and ignite the passion that I aim to bring to every class and client that I interact with.
My background and current areas includes programming Macro Based Nutrition Plans, teaching HIIT Classes; Bootcamp Classes; Powerlifting; Dynamic Training Classes and One on one sessions.
My personal favorite exercises are : Squats and Bench Press and Functional Life Movements.
My hobbies include working out, traveling and spending time with my loved ones.
Scott Jennings

Hi there I’m Coach Scott!
I started my own fitness journey when I was younger! I played multiple sports in high school and into college at a competitive level. This is where I grew my love for athletic performance and learned discipline and hard work.
Whilst playing sports, I pursued a career in athletic training. I worked with several sports teams at D1 high school and college levels and worked with many different athletes with unique backgrounds. Halfway though my time at Fresno state I changed majors to Exercise science to broaden my options. Through both these majors, is where i built my passion for injury prevention/functional performance/posture/proper movement and mobility.
In 2018 I graduated with my bachelors in Exercise science. I also have several certifications that include; NASM, Functional movement screening (FMS). I also have a rowing and kettlebell certifications. Lastly I have a level 1 certification in Precision Nutrition.
My background includes teaching HIIT Classes; Bootcamp Classes; Spartan race coaching; 1on1 personal training; Nutrition coaching; and mobility seminars.
My hobbies include anything outside, camping, hiking, biking, skiing.
